PMP Fam,

Yerrrrrr, let’s talk about DTFFY though!🦋💛

Throughout my poetry journey, DTFFY is in my top 5 shows. This is one of my favorite PMP events because it was intimate and interactive. It not only gave every poet a chance to get real time feedback & showcase their work, but it also gave me a chance to honor my craft with grace.

I appreciate all the feedback that was given. However, the feedback that stuck with me the most was “You already know your gift.” These 5 simple words were a reminder to embrace what I too already knew.

Honest moment: I low-key did not want to perform because when I did a PMP open mic back in September, I was anxious, shy, and it was my 3rd time performing. It’s funny because before that I was confident & ready but the moment I hit that stage bayyyybeeeee my stomach dropped lol.

Fast forward 6 months later, I can proudly say I didn’t have not one anxious bone in my body while performing. I also want to happily express that I look forward to seeing the DTFFY series grow because this is what I believe every new poet needs.

Overall, the setting was perfect, food was delicious, DJ Complete always sets the tones with the beats, Jourdan prayed with me (love you for that Jour), the crowd was a vibe & I got to meet new people. It deff gave me tiny desk vibes which I liked alot. I really hope you guys continue to implement the DTFFY series because it’ll help many creatives like myself grow with our gifts.

Thanks for always creating a safe space for creatives like myself. I pray that God continues to bless PMP. I’m forever humble & grateful to have been on your platform.
