Early Birthday Gift to Myself: Become a Self Published Author ππ«π
This gift is personal. A dream since grad school & an assignment from God.
God asked me to dedicate 1 year to Him on November 30th & I said βyes.β That yes entailed, cutting off all distractions and allowing Him to move in my life as needed.
7 months was dedicated to acknowledging my mental health, transitioning out of my full time job, recommitting my life to God, writing my manuscript, allowing Him to refine me, while being obedient to my yes.
3 months strictly dedicated writing my book. Within these past 3 months, I learned the importance of self image. Being a representation of Him means mirroring the fruit that lies within me.
I focused on strengthening my No as I gave him my Yes. I turned down my plate any time it was presented when it pertained to speaking engagements just so I can draw closer to Him. So I can hear his spoken words.
10 months later & here we are.
Nothing could have prepared me for the winds and waves that were to come. I had days when I felt unworthy, days where I felt like I couldnβt move forward, but in every moment I was reminded of Godβs faithfulness toward me.
To my friends and family, and everyone who has supported me, thank you. Iβll never be able to express all the gratitude I have in my heart for you. Thank you for creating a safe space to fully align with the βiβ in my testimony.
To my editors, Rashaan, Renita, & Taty thank you for the late nights and early mornings. Thank you for walking along side of me during this process.
@writingworkshopsofficial thank you for preparing for this moment. Hawaii was an experience.
I am truly grateful that God has trusted me to see this through.
